Hampshire School Cross-Country Championships

9 March 2012

Two students from Cowes Enterprise College were selected to represent the Isle of Wight at the Hampshire Championships at Basingstoke on Thursday 1st March. Luke Margham (Yr 7) and Callum Long (Yr 7) both put in excellent performances to finish the challenging course. The run of the day has to go to Callum for finishing a creditable 23rd in a field of 118 runners and being the second fastest Island runner. Both athletes will be looking forward to the upcoming Track and Field season where they hope to replicate their Cross-Country success on the track. Well done to you both and good luck.

Goalie Aaron nets trials with Bournemouth F.C.

8 March 2012

Hampshire’s No.1 Goal Keeper and Cowes Enterprise College student Aaron Bunday has secured a further 6 week trial with the Bournemouth F.C. U14 squad. Aaron has attended trials, involving an intense skills assessment, with seven other goal keepers from across the region to become one of two keepers to be kept on for further trials. Aaron has been selected for the starting line-up for a match against Plymouth on Sunday 11th March. Should the 6 week period go well for Aaron he will be offered a two year contract, followed by a scholarship for the seniors. The Cowes Enterprise College community will be following Aaron’s progress and wishes him the best of luck.
