Cowes Enterprise College Celebrates An Impressive BTEC Inspection

At the beginning of December the College was inspected across all of their BTEC programmes.  The college runs BTEC qualifications in Science, Business, Travel & Tourism, Performing Arts and Sport Studies.  The inspector was very impressed with the teaching on the BTEC courses especially with the facilities at the College and the enthusiasm of teachers. 

Highlights of the report include:

Cowes Enterprise College provides a well-resourced provision. Learners are taught and assessed by enthusiastic and experienced staff who work hard to contextualise and improve the learning experience.

Cowes Enterprise College has introduced new effective quality processes and policies, reviewed in May and November that fully support learning.

There is also a culture of being responsive to learner feedback throughout the year and there is good evidence that that learner and practitioner views have been responded to.

Learners are supported to succeed through good quality feedback on assessment and through regular tutorial reviews. During the review, progress to date is recorded and development targets agreed.

The Business Studies course file submitted for review should be considered an example of good practice.
